Montblanc: the beauty of a second

"190 years ago, Nicolas Rieussec recorded time to an accuracy of a fifth second for the first time - the chronograph was born. To celebrate this unique invention, Montblanc created the one-of-a-kind "The Beauty of a Second" short-film contest presented by the famous film director Wim Wenders."

Artsy...I want it!!!

I saw this years ago when in Mexico, but at that time I had something against skulls...that time has gone now and I'm dying to get one of this!!!

I'm trying to figure out what I love the most about them: if it's the profusion of colors, the attention to details or the daringness to make something supposed to be dark and signal of death such a lively and vibrating piece of art!
Please, anyone going to Mexico, could you get me one of these!!!????

From Artstation

A bit of background (from Artstation) :

"The Huichol Indians of Mexico live a secluded life in harmony with nature in the remote Sierra Madre Mountains. This people is one of the few still existing indigenous tribes in Mexico. Their artworks are an expression of their culture, which is rich in original and unique ceremonies. They are said to be of great artistic power (I can see that, totally!!!), and all their artworks serves a religious purpose. The "skulls" are a stroke of artistic genius, colorful and unmatched. Each item is unique and an expression of their mental dedication. The skulls, which are richly encrusted with glass beads, show the vitality of these people and strengthen their love for religious traditions. Their dedication is infectious and even persuades outsiders."

Xuxa!!!

Cheesy or not, controversial for sure...but she was my queen when I was a little girl!
On top of that, I'm very emotional these days...so there is no way I couldn't find it special...

BB Cream? Nooo!!! CC Cream

BB creams (Beauty Balms) were a huge thing but they are in the past already...in Asia, the "new thing" are the CC Creams, and amongst the big international brands, Chanel is leading the way with its Complete Color Correction Cream (actually is a Cream x 4!!!).

But what is a CC Cream?
CC stands for Color Control, and it promises to be an evolved version of the BB Creams with better fixation, higher sun protection and lighter texture (oil free). Some also have a better moisturizing formula, with white tea and/or green tea extracts, macadamia, aloe vera, anti-oxidant action, vit E and hyaluronic acid. Ufff!!! Ok,  when will we get to ZZ Creams???

She is glamourous, sensual, diva, chic, over the top and delicate at the same time...and she masters what she does!!! Admirable!!

And know, my book collection will increase with the addition of 2 of her books + 1 dvd!
Can't wait to have them home!!!

Japanese rock

After some fireworks at the park on Saturday "freezing" night, followed by a night picnic with hot wine and some dips...no voice on Sunday morning! The plan? Something indoors, and more precisely, that wouldn't required lots of "talking"... something more "observational" let's say.
So, we head to an exposition at the Barbican: Future Beauty, 30 years of Japanese Fashion.
One word only: IM-PRESSIVE!!!

The way Japanese designers use and THINK about the materials, the garment engineering, the simplicity that makes even the "ugly" something beautiful, or at least veeeery interesting.

A PAINT?!
NO...A DRESS!

THIS BECOMES....

THIS! INCREDIBLE, ISN'T IT?!

THIS ONE IS BRILLIANT! BASICALLY THOUSANDS OF SKULLS  THAT LOOK LIKE PETALS!

DOLLS LOVE!

AND THESE ONES...

....

BECOMES THIS!!!
And I have to say I always liked, but now I'm totally, utterly in love with Comme des Garçons.
(Rei Kawakubo rocks! She is amazing!)
